*~There is magic in Lake Erie~*
Cetea lives in a ship that lies at the bottom of Lake Erie. She likes to swim to the surface at night to say hello to the stars. There used to be many mermaids in the lake, but now they are quite rare! Even so, the adventurous Cetea is quite taken away with humans, and likes to visit them on special occasions.
Many years ago, transport ships were common on the lake. Late at night, sailors would struggle to find their way home. The mermaid felt sad for the lost sailors, and would do her best to guide as many of them as she could to the shore. They named the mermaid after Cetus- the sea monster constellation, because she was as beautiful as the stars above and as brave as the largest of the creatures in the lake.
Cetea is very playful and inquisitive. She's been learning English thanks to her friends. her favorite human things are hats, marshmallows, and fountains.

Meet the Human
Jessica J Gramc is a creative and quirky individual. She has a strong background in theater. She studied for two years at the Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Academy, and another year at Kent State University with a major in theater arts. She also tried her hand in makeup and special FX for a year with Kutzman's Institute of Art, but that wasn't a good fit. She found her passion for working with children when she took on a face painting job with Cedar Point in 2013. She didn't discover Mermaiding until 2016, and it was love at first swim. Now she's swimming with all her might towards new adventures.
When not in the water, you can find Jessica on the dance floor of a ballroom studio, or volunteering for local theaters. She's also interested in Astrology and technology. Her human job is working as a customer service rep for a trucking company.
